Artistic Literacy Consortium of Alabama - Shared Evaluation System
What is the Shared Evaluation System?
First, the Shared Evaluation System is a means of collecting information that will help organizations and schools learn about their own efforts to improve, grow, and meet the challenges that all programs face. Although the information gathered may be useful to determine accountability and validity, particularly for funders, the main objective is to learn.
Second, the Shared Evaluation System provides participants with an honest appraisal of the goals, plans, and outcomes of your program.
Third, your participation allows for all of us to move forward in our shared mission to provide fully-funded high-quality arts education to every Alabama student; Allowing the Artistic Literacy Consortium to provide a collective picture of the Arts in Alabama.— A Collective Picture and a Collective Voice!
For the first time, the Shared Evaluation System allows Students, Parents, Administrations, Board Members, Community Members, Local and State Officials, Local, State, Regional and National Agencies, and the State and Federal Legislative Bodies, to see a collective, statewide picture of what EVERY participating program is doing, and maybe most importantly, what every participating program needs for their program to continue successfully...

Logic Model
A program logic model is a picture of how your program works - the theory and assumptions underlying the program. ...This model provides a road map of your program, highlighting how it is expected to work, what activities need to come before others, and how desired outcomes are achieved (p. 35). W.K. Kellogg Foundation Evaluation Handbook (1998).
Many of you have logic models already in place in your program.
If you do not, or would like to update your logic model, a wonderful guide is the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Evaluation Handbook (available Free of charge) - W.K. Kellogg Foundation Evaluation Handbook
You may choose to answer each of the following logic model questions individually, or you may submit a copy of your existing logic model for your program to Dr. Stacy Hughey Surman using the link below.

Shared Evaluation Model
The Shared Evaluation Model is an online arts centered program evaluation model that allows for point and click navigating, copy and paste from any existing document, and uploading of most common file formats.
The information collected in the shared Evaluation model does not have to start from scratch, even if you are a new program. Much of the information requested can be gleaned from grant application, teacher and program evaluation goals, strategic planning and accreditation goals and program descriptions.
The shared evaluation model can be completed by an individual or a group of people (using the shared evaluation model worksheet) and can be accessed and worked on from any internet capable devise, yes, you can do this on your smart phone or tablet J
The shared evaluation model can be modified as needed, as often as every day if you like, and all responses are automatically saved, so your responses are secure.

Evidence Submission Model
The Evidence Submission Model provides each program with a central location for the documentation of data submitted to show evidence of making progress toward or meeting a Goal/Objective set forth in the Shared Evaluation Model. Data can be photographs, video, audio, assessments, publicity in all forms of news media, letter/messages from students, parents, community members, students/community member work, etc...the list is endless...if it supports your program by showing what you are doing, it can be used as data in the Shared Evidence Submission Model.
Files of any common type can be uploaded to the model and storage is provided to each program, with the program having access to all uploaded files. In addition to providing evidence based documentation for programs, and a site for centralized storage of data for each program, the Centralized evidence for all programs will be used to collect information to support the collective picture and collective voice of Arts in Alabama.
Suggested Trimester Submission Deadlines: December 15th, April 15th and August 15th to allow for timely reporting and routine data collection and dissemination.
